Welcome To BIOROCK Ireland
The BIOROCK is a unique sewage treatment plant that can be used to treat wastewater from new houses and existing houses (as a retrofit to an existing septic tank) in addition to larger commercial, residential and industrial developments due to its modular design.
The BIOROCK system is completely unique, and it is the only sewage treatment plant on the market today that uses no electricity, has no moving parts and no air compressor. As a result of this, the BIOROCK system is not subject to problems and breakdowns associated with many of the other systems on the market today.
BIOROCK Savings
The savings from installing a BIOROCK system instead of other systems are huge. As the BIOROCK uses no electricity there is an instant saving of up to €250 per year. While many other system providers will indicate that their units have low running costs, this is not the case. The BIOROCK is the only completely sustainable system, using no electricity.
As there are no moving parts, rotating discs, air blowers or compressors in the BIOROCK system, it requires minimal maintenance compared to other systems. This can again result in huge savings of up to €300 per year, which is the average cost to service a standard treatment unit. The lack of moving parts means that unlike other systems on the market today, there will be no need for replacement parts every year or emergency callout fees for breakdowns. Also, the system will continue to operate even during a powercut.
The final saving is due to the huge sludge storage capacity of the BIOROCK system. Other systems can require expensive de-sludging on an annual basis, costing up to €250 per year. The BIOROCK system only needs to be de-sludged every 4-5 years, resulting in a further annual saving.
These savings can amount to up to €700 per year.
The upcoming introduction of the Carbon Tax means that even further savings can be achieved by installing the BIOROCK system in place of other units available in Ireland. Installation of the BIOROCK can save up to half a tonne of CO2 production in a household every year.
The BIOROCK system is certified to EN 12566-3:2005. This certification is now mandatory in Ireland following the publication of the new EPA wastewater treatment manual in October 2009. Many systems for sale in Ireland do not have this certification, so buyers beware! Of the few systems in Ireland that have this certification, none of them have achieved effluent quality results that are even close to the BIOROCK system. The BIOROCK system has stayed within the 20:30:20 effluent standard during 100% of the testing period. No other system has achieved such results. Ask any other treatment system provider for a copy of their EN 12566-3:2005 test results, and if they even have them, we guarantee that they will show a poorer effluent quality than the BIOROCK unit.
The BIOROCK is currently undergoing new testing, with even higher results expected.

The BIOROCK sewage treatment plant process uses No energy. Other sewage treatment plants require a continuous supply of expensive electricity to drive the compressors, pumps, motors and discs that are needed to continually oxygenate liquid based systems. The BIOROCK uses NONE for the treatment process. The BIOROCK also has no moving parts to break down or replace. That is why the operating cost of a BIOROCK is so low. The BIOROCK sewage treatment plant has an almost zero carbon footprint.
